4/23/20: FAQ's About COVID-19 Standardized Testing Policy Changes

  1. Standardized tests have been cancelled/rescheduled until July. What does this mean for you? The SAT and ACT commissions are trying to add additional tests. As you may have seen at several universities, admissions have pivoted to test-optional to the next application cycle—and some, indefinitely.

  2. Many schools keep changing their policies. How does this affect you? For juniors who are aiming to start the application process over the next few months, it’s important to narrow down your working college lists. Next, pay close attention to those colleges’ messaging when it comes to standardized testing requirements.

  3. What do I think the future of testing could look like given the impact COVID-19 has already made in the college admissions process? We hope that these companies understand the stress that students are feeling throughout this process. As companies continue to announce policy changes, universities will quickly adapt accordingly. We predict that colleges and the ACT/SAT leadership commissions will work closely together to streamline expectations and policies.
